I have literally spent hundreds on various feeders, always falling just below my hopes for the ideal one. Until now. I LOVE this feeder and, more importantly, my girls love it. They took right to it, no issues. I have a couple on the small side and 6 brahmas with the rest standards, and all can access the food with ease. It also holds a lot of food. I haven't put a whole bag in yet, but I could. It will be one less worry when I have to go out of town. I have 4 runs/ coops and my goal is to have one in each of them and replace the buckets, which were economical at the time, but not nearly as good. I had 3 bucket feeders and this replaces all 3! More space for my not-free-ranging birds to roam around in their enclosed runs! My other runs are smaller, bantan and silkie sized birds, but I checked and this will go low enough for them. The top is great, too, because it will keep them from perching. On the buckets that sat up from the ground, I spent almost $20 just on cones, that can blow off if the wind is just right, so they wouldn't perch on top. The bucket that hung from the top wouldn't allow a cone and I was always nervous the handle would slip or something would happen and it would fall when one of my pets were underneath it. This Coopworx feeder is solid on the ground. I have pavers lining the runs with sand on top and it sits comfortably and securely. I've told people about this and there were a few complaints on the price, but really, having spent hundreds on feeders I now don't use . . . if I'd found this first, I'd have saved a lot. I wish I had because this will last for years. Some of those other feeders had to be replaced because they rusted (but were galvanized!?!) or the food would get clumpy on damp days or some issue. I also love it comes with hole covers! I'm pretty sure I fixed our mouse problem but if they come back, I can always plug the holes at night without having to remove the feeder. Do yourself and your flock a favor - just buy it.
