Perfect for my little backyard flock. Had an issue getting the legs attached, but with a little elbow grease, I was able to get it together.
My chickens love it easy to use and hold 80 pounds
My chickens can't seem to get the idea of drinking out of this waterer! I love it, but they don't! Can you recommend how to train them please?
I didn't realize how much feed was being wasted before I purchased these feeders! My chickens love them and I am saving money on the feed bill. Great investments! Now I need a smaller version for my chicks! Let me know when you have those!
We have two in place right now. It’s made feeding WAY easier as well as storage for feed. There has also been a lot less food waste
I have literally spent hundreds on various feeders, always falling just below my hopes for the ideal one. Until now. I LOVE this feeder and, more importantly, my girls love it. They took right to it, no issues. I have a couple on the small side and 6 brahmas with the rest standards, and all can access the food with ease. It also holds a lot of food. I haven't put a whole bag in yet, but I could. It will be one less worry when I have to go out of town. I have 4 runs/ coops and my goal is to have one in each of them and replace the buckets, which were economical at the time, but not nearly as good. I had 3 bucket feeders and this replaces all 3! More space for my not-free-ranging birds to roam around in their enclosed runs! My other runs are smaller, bantan and silkie sized birds, but I checked and this will go low enough for them. The top is great, too, because it will keep them from perching. On the buckets that sat up from the ground, I spent almost $20 just on cones, that can blow off if the wind is just right, so they wouldn't perch on top. The bucket that hung from the top wouldn't allow a cone and I was always nervous the handle would slip or something would happen and it would fall when one of my pets were underneath it. This Coopworx feeder is solid on the ground. I have pavers lining the runs with sand on top and it sits comfortably and securely. I've told people about this and there were a few complaints on the price, but really, having spent hundreds on feeders I now don't use . . . if I'd found this first, I'd have saved a lot. I wish I had because this will last for years. Some of those other feeders had to be replaced because they rusted (but were galvanized!?!) or the food would get clumpy on damp days or some issue. I also love it comes with hole covers! I'm pretty sure I fixed our mouse problem but if they come back, I can always plug the holes at night without having to remove the feeder. Do yourself and your flock a favor - just buy it.
This feed silo works great, It is well built and we love the design of it.
Working great! Saving me a ton of money on feed. Love it.
I love the feeder. at first, I didn't understand, why it was so wobbly when I asked my husband what was wrong. He said he forgot to tighten the screw on the stand. thank you Coopwork Feeder, when I go to the Ohio Nationals show in Columbus, Ohio. I'm going to pick up the water.
I just received my chicks in the mail. i am impressed with the quality of product. well built
We got the big silo feeder for our 9 chickens and we absolutely love it! Call me lazy, but not having to fill up a feeder everyday has been such a luxury! Not only that but with it being as far off the ground as it is, it stays super clean where they used to get a bunch of stuff in their feed. I haven’t had it long enough for them to empty it yet but I am super excited to start doing the math and see if they are wasting less feed too! Would highly recommend!
Great product! Works great and chickens love it! Also very well built and has a cool sleek look to it!
I’m very happy with the 40 lb Feed Silo so far. It came fully assembled. Bottom of post has 4 strong blades that went thru some difficult ground with a lot of tree roots. Was worried it would be too big for a 6’ wide run, but looks perfect. Ten growing chickens took to it very quickly. Little if any waste. Using crumbles for now. Now its just a matter of determining how long the feed will last.
Easy to install and the chickens immediately used it. There is some wiggle room when you install on the post but after filling it stabilizes. My birds aren’t full grown yet but we’re still able to use on the lowest setting.
Our now 9 week old chicks learned quickly how to use the nipples. Our issue is the effort it takes to refresh the water and sanitize the silo. If the silo is more than one third full of water, it is very difficult/heavy to remove. Plus, I then need to navigate around the chicks to get outside the run to dump the old water out while carrying this large object that is very heavy. I just hadn’t considered this aspect of the process. There is no way I could lift the silo if it were any where near filled to capacity. Also, they are almost always standing on top of it and doing their business. The slope does not hinder them at all. Perhaps when they are full grown that aspect of the design will work. For now, it is a bit of a poopy mess that I dread having to maintain.
CoopWorx, elevated on four aluminum legs, features a roost-resistant hinged lid that provides easy access to load feed, and integrated drip edges to channel water away from the ports.
Easy to clean and sanitize, CoopWorx works as well inside as it does out, suitable for all climates year around.
