Perfect for my little backyard flock. Had an issue getting the legs attached, but with a little elbow grease, I was able to get it together.
Hi Grant, thanks for the photos! I am glad to hear you were able to get the legs in OK.
We do make them tight so they won't fall out when moving the feeder, so sometimes you have to twist them hard to insert the telescoping legs into the recepticals.
I hope you enjoy using it! Tom
My chickens love it easy to use and hold 80 pounds
Thanks for the review, I am glad to hear you are happy with your feeder. We heard from one customer that if you mound the feed at the top it will even hold two 50 lb. bags of feed! I hope you enjoy using your CoopWorx Feed Silo.
All the best, Tom
We have two in place right now. It’s made feeding WAY easier as well as storage for feed. There has also been a lot less food waste
Thanks for the review Jeremy, I am glad to hear you are happy with your feeder! Tom
I have literally spent hundreds on various feeders, always falling just below my hopes for the ideal one. Until now. I LOVE this feeder and, more importantly, my girls love it. They took right to it, no issues. I have a couple on the small side and 6 brahmas with the rest standards, and all can access the food with ease. It also holds a lot of food. I haven't put a whole bag in yet, but I could. It will be one less worry when I have to go out of town. I have 4 runs/ coops and my goal is to have one in each of them and replace the buckets, which were economical at the time, but not nearly as good. I had 3 bucket feeders and this replaces all 3! More space for my not-free-ranging birds to roam around in their enclosed runs! My other runs are smaller, bantan and silkie sized birds, but I checked and this will go low enough for them. The top is great, too, because it will keep them from perching. On the buckets that sat up from the ground, I spent almost $20 just on cones, that can blow off if the wind is just right, so they wouldn't perch on top. The bucket that hung from the top wouldn't allow a cone and I was always nervous the handle would slip or something would happen and it would fall when one of my pets were underneath it. This Coopworx feeder is solid on the ground. I have pavers lining the runs with sand on top and it sits comfortably and securely. I've told people about this and there were a few complaints on the price, but really, having spent hundreds on feeders I now don't use . . . if I'd found this first, I'd have saved a lot. I wish I had because this will last for years. Some of those other feeders had to be replaced because they rusted (but were galvanized!?!) or the food would get clumpy on damp days or some issue. I also love it comes with hole covers! I'm pretty sure I fixed our mouse problem but if they come back, I can always plug the holes at night without having to remove the feeder. Do yourself and your flock a favor - just buy it.
We got the big silo feeder for our 9 chickens and we absolutely love it! Call me lazy, but not having to fill up a feeder everyday has been such a luxury! Not only that but with it being as far off the ground as it is, it stays super clean where they used to get a bunch of stuff in their feed. I haven’t had it long enough for them to empty it yet but I am super excited to start doing the math and see if they are wasting less feed too! Would highly recommend!
Hi Katelynn, thanks for letting us know how your CoopWorx feeder is working for you. Please let us know how much feed you are saving when you do the math! Tom
