Care
The opaque body helps limit algae, but regular cleaning is still recommended. If you use a water deicer or heater, use an automatic shutoff temperature control rated at no more than 250W. Do not let the device run dry or touch the plastic.

Wow! I had sat on my purchase of the feed silo for months and just watch my chicken’s feed disappear. I have 6 hens and I was going through 40lbs in a week. I notice that there was mice tracks around the food, so I jumped the gun and bought it. I was worried that my girls would have a hard time with the higher up feeder but they took to very well. I have one girl that seems to not stand straight and I was most worried about her not getting food, but she enjoys her little stretches for food. The biggest wow was that new bag purchase every week has gone down to once a month. The second night of having it I did see a mouse jump out of it but I just put peppermint spray around the base and haven’t had a problem since.
I’ve had my CoopWorx water silo for over a year now and it is fantastic. I only need to fill it once every two weeks. Great design all around.
I absolutely love the CoopWorx feeder and waterer!! Both are absolutely perfect. The feed container fits an entire feed bag and the water container fits enough where I don't have to worry or keep refilling. The chickens immediately figured out how to eat out of it/drink. We have a much happier coup and much happier family!

Hi Terri, thanks for the comments on your water silo. I think the water stays cooler because the body of the water silo is so thick and opaque that it blocks the sunlight from reaching the water. This will also help prevent algae from growing inside.
