No match for raccoons

I was hopeful for the covers to keep raccoons out and it did for two nights, but they broke in on the third. I think they would work well to keep rodents out. I’m hoping that Coopworx will create a cover for the whole feeder that can easily be taken off and on.

Awesome!

This feed silo takes the daily chore out of feeding the chickens. All around quality! Feed port covers are a must. I rotate the covers every few days to keep the feed always moving.

Very practical

I have received the ports covers really fast. I just think you should include the ports when people buy the feeders.

Hi Moncia, thanks for the feedback, it is a good suggestion. We designed the port covers for people who have their feeders outside of their run so larger animals can't get to the feed at night. We found that most people don't use them which is the reason we made them optional. Thanks, Tom

Must have if you have nightly visitors!

We didn't think we had critters going after our feed, until we did! These covers are easy to install and keep your valuable feed from going to waste. We keep them in a mesh bag on a tree next to the feed.

They don’t stay in

They don’t stay in and chickens pull them out

Hi Darlene,

I am sorry you are having a problem with your feed port covers. We designed them so that they flex when you squeeze the handle in the middle so when you insert them in all the way they snap into a recess on the inside of the feed ports. We designed them to keep racoons and other critters out at night.
