Freedom!

I have so much freedom with this waterer, in partnership with the feeder, than I've ever had as a chicken farmer! Seriously....I was cleaning and re-filling three waterers daily! But, this waterer can go for 8 days without needing a refill...and the water stays clean! I think I can actually enjoy my chickens again! And they figured out how to use the nipple system in a flash. Great product! Thank you!

Hi Rachel. I am glad to hear you are also happy with your water silo. Thanks! Tom

Site glass

I really like the watere but if there was some way to agg a site glass for viewing the water level in the waterer

Hi Logan,

Thanks for the suggestion.

It is a good idea, but I don't know of a way would could add one to the rotomolded part that wouldn't potentially leak. These are molded out of HDPE and there is not a good way that I know of to bond a clear acrylic or PC window to the feeder if we cut a slot into it.

I will take a look at if for any future designs.

Training my chickens

How do I train my chickens to drink from the water silo

Hi Mark, if you toggle one of the nipple pins to add water to the small cup on the water port they should drink from that. Then if one of your chickens pecks at the shiny stainless steel pins it should figure out how to use it. Once one starts drinking from it the others usually follow.

You can also try temporarily removing any other water source if there is still one in the run. This should help them to start drinking from it. Please let me know when they start using it or if you have any other questions.

All the best,
Tom

Amazing! Pricey but you get what you pay for.

Hi Debbie, thanks for your comments. We tried to design and produce the best feeder we could without cutting any corners. I am glad you like it. Thanks, Tom
